FAQ

Here are some frequently asked questions regarding my services and training. If you still have questions, or you'd like to book in for a training session, please contact me.

Where is the training done?

I come to you for in-home training.

Do you run group obedience classes?

There are no group classes available at this time, but I am looking into offering this in the future.

How much does it cost?

You can find more information about this on the pricing page.

How long will it take to train my dog?

This depends on your experience level, how committed you are to the training, how easy your dog is to motivate, how old your dog is, if you just want basic obedience training or want to train your dog to a high level of obedience, if your dog has behavioural issues, and a few other things.

Big change takes time. Behaviour can't be changed over night. This is why my training programs are ongoing and provide all the support you will need.

Can all dogs be trained?

Yes! There is no such thing as an untrainable breed or a dog who can't be trained. "Untrainable" is an outdated term which was used back when the main form of training was through force and punishment. A lot of breeds respond very poorly to this type of training, and were labelled "stubborn", "dumb" or "untrainable". Dog training has come a long way, and we now use motivation to train dogs - we motivate them using things they care about, so they will want to work with us.

I have trained hundreds of dogs and more than 60 different breeds, and have not found any breed less trainable than any other.

Some dogs learn slower than others, but this is usually a motivation issue, not due to lower intelligence or stubbornness.
